REAL WEDDING - Mr. and Mrs. Kruger {06.03.17}

August 4 | 2017

August is here, which means summer is (sadly) coming to an end. But before fall begins, let’s look back at one of our summer 2017 weddings! Ben and Maddie held their reception at Wilderness Ridge on June 3rd. Here are some special moments from their wedding day!

{At First Glance} “Ben and I first met in high school, we both went to Norris. We started dating the beginning of Ben's senior year and my junior year of high school.”

{The Proposal} “The proposal was at Big Sandy Lake in Ashland, NE. Ben had told me that we were going to his work party that evening, so I met Ben at his parent's lake house (where he was living at the time) to ride along with him. Once I arrived, Ben led me outside where he surprised me with red roses and got down on one knee! He tricked me, I had no idea! Ben also surprised me with having both of our families then come out to Big Sandy Lake to celebrate this exciting time in our lives.”

{Why Wilderness Ridge} “We chose Wilderness Ridge for our venue because it is so beautiful! We both loved the look of the hand-crafted wood work throughout Wilderness Ridge, it adds such an elegant and rustic look. Jordyn was so great to work with, she was so helpful with figuring out every detail of our day. Wilderness Ridge was a perfect venue for our reception!”

{Final Touches} “The theme for our decoration I would say would be elegant and simple. Our colors were blush, champagne, and gold which I feel was incorporated into our centerpieces beautifully. Petals to Platinum did a wonderful job with applying what I told her I envisioned and making it possible. Everything looked so beautiful!”

{Memorable Moment} “Every moment of our wedding was our favorite, but if we had to choose one then we would say our vows. It was such a special moment reciting our vows to one another in front of our family and friends and the greatest feeling to be announced husband and wife for the very first time.”

{First Look} “Ben and I did decide to do a first look before our ceremony at Sheridan Lutheran Church. Our photographers and videographer were there only ones with us when we saw each other for the first time. They had him looking away from the direction I was coming in. I was so excited to see Ben and have him see me in my dress. I grabbed his side and he turned around to look at me, I will never forget the look on his face. it was the most special moment!”

{Honeymooners} “We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We stayed at the La Toc Sandals Resort and were there for the whole week. It was so nice to leave the Monday after our wedding and to celebrate being newlyweds. We had the best time!”

{Something Blue} “My mom gave me a special gift at my bachelorette party that she made me. It was a pin that had some very special things included on it. This gift was my "something borrowed" to put on my bouquet. The pin had a penny with 2017 to resemble the year Ben and I got married, the diamond from my mom's original wedding ring, dried flowers from my mom's bouquet, and the ribbon from my mom's garter which was my "something blue" since it had blue on it.”
